Amazon Pay On Behalf

- Batteries
- Packaging
Spanish companies can use Pay On Behalf in Spain, but only for the Batteries category.
Digital Certificates
To register for Packaging in Spain, you'll need a Digital Certificate. The Digital Certificate is provided by Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre - the Spanish Royal Mint - and allows the director of your company to sign documents electronically. The Digital Certificate has to be renewed every 3 years. Please ask your contact at SimplyVAT which Digital Certificate is relevant for your business.
For an additional fee we can obtain the Digital Certificate on your behalf. Here's what it involves:
- You'll need an active Spanish VAT or NIF under your company name. We support Spanish VAT registrations if you need to do this.
- We'll need to establish a new Power of Attorney (POA) document, which you'll need to get notarised with the Apostille of the Hague. We can't do this for you, but we can recommend a notary if you'd like.
Once these things are set up, we can prepare and submit your application to Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre - the Spanish Royal Mint. If they approve your application, you'll be issued the certificate, allowing you to sign official documents electronically.
Digital Certificate Timeframes
Because you need a Spanish VAT or NIF number before you can apply for the Digital Certificate, the time it takes to get one can vary quite a bit.
The Digital Certificate takes four weeks on average, once we've filed your application. A Spanish VAT number takes on average four to six weeks so if you need to do both, you're looking at up to 3 months to get the Digital Certificate.
