We're having to change the battery Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) we're working with in Sweden. This change will affect you if you're registered, or in the process of registering for batteries in Sweden.
Is this part of my annual EPR renewal?
No. This communication relates specifically to your ongoing Swedish battery EPR registration.
Your annual EPR renewal is a separate process.
What's happening to my application?
As your registration through Recipo has not been completed and a registration number has not yet been issued, your application will need to proceed under the new arrangement with El-Kretsen/Batterikretsen.
You don't need to re-submit any documents or information.
We'll let you know if El-Kretsen/Batterikretsen requires anything else.
Do I need to take any action now?
You don't need to do anything right now. You'll shortly receive a separate email asking you to confirm whether you wish to proceed with your registration through El-Kretsen/Batterikretsen. Let us know if that's the case and we'll get it sorted.
Will this delay my registration?
The change may affect the time it takes to complete your registration as El-Kretsen/Batterikretsen has their own processing times. We're working to make sure it happens as quickly as possible, and will let you know if the timeline changes.
What happens if I don't confirm that I wish to proceed?
We can't submit your application without your consent, so if you decide not to proceed, we won't. Just remember that you'll still need to be registered for batteries in Sweden if you plan to place batteries onto the Swedish market.
Will this change affect the cost of my battery compliance?
El-Kretsen/Batterikretsen has it's own fee structure, so this change will likely affect the cost of compliance. We're currently finalising the pricing for 2027 and waiting on confirmation of the final costs. We'll let you know the difference as soon as we're able.
Why is SimplyVAT now using El-Kretsen/Batterikretsen?
Recipo, the previous Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) we were working with is no longer listed as one of Sweden's authorised PROs. We're switching to El-Kretsen/Batterikretsen because they cover all five battery categories in the Swedish EPR framework - allowing us to support you with all kinds of batteries through one PRO.
